"If things go bad we will just use more fog and lights!"

- James Armillotti -

Shock Therapy is a cover band from the Buffalo, NY area. We were formed in 2020, which was a tough year for artists. During this time, we grew together as a band and became great friends. We genuinely enjoy spending our time entertaining others. We cover hit songs from the 1970’s to the 2000’s. Our set lists are designed to promote a party atmosphere in the style of a rock show. Our main goal is to get people dancing and partying with us. We are available to play at just about any event or venue. We have sound systems available to us that are suitable for either indoor smaller events up to larger festivals.

Jessica Shock

Lead vocals, Contact Person, The Reason This Site Has Punctuation

Jessica is a classically trained vocalist with a knack for bringing the rock to a show. While this is her first rock band, she has been singing her whole life. Her vocal abilities never cease to amaze. Not only is she vocally talented, she also brings charm to a show. Her antics and stage presence are both captivating and endearing. Many can’t help themselves but to sing and dance along with her as she performs.

Eddie “Van” Hamm

Guitar, Vocals, “Keytar”

Eddie has been playing guitar for years, primarily as a rhythm player. He was a member of OAE, Kanayamz, Deadlock, White Bronco and Silver Xtreme, and has dabbled in running sound for some local establishments. We have forced him out of his comfort zone, into lead playing, and he shines. He is also a great backup vocalist with the ability to carry tunes on his own. His talents have helped our band grow tremendously.

Jeff Szalay

Jeff Szalay is new to playing, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t sound like the greats. His growth in this band has been astounding. He used to be a shy guy – now he rips out solos like it’s his job (which it is…). He’s always working on and perfecting his guitar tones, just like his inspiration, Eddie Van Halen. He’s truly the rock of the band, allowing us to use his living room as practice space and always putting the band first.

Guitar, Talkbox, Tone Master

Joe is a very talented drummer who keeps us all in line and in time. He is our newest member, and we are privileged to have him. He has a ton of experience that makes him an accurate drummer, with a lot of feel and swagger. He is also the drummer for Backbeat 64, an incredible tribute to The Beatles! With a guy like Joe around, we have no choice but to be at our best.

Drums, Back Up Vocals, "Cowbell Tuning"

Joe Mason

Mike’s amazing talent and vast knowledge truly set the foundation for us. He has years of experience both in rock bands and in classical pursuits, having been a member of OAE, Kanayamz, Backbeat ’64, The Attic, Deadlock and Yesterday band, as well as part of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchard Park Symphony and the Canisius Jazz Ensemble. When he’s not playing, he provides sound for several local bands at many different venues. When people tell us we sound good, we have no choice but to point to Mike! Mike and Eddie have played together for many years and their cohesiveness has helped our band to gel in ways we could not have predicted.

Bass, Sound Engineer, Vocals, Lighting Tech, Fog Man

Mike Balon

Eric Fallon

Bass, Sound Engineer, Lights, Heavy Lifting

Eric is the youngest player in our group. In addition to our band, he plays bass in an original band (Wacko Fest). He puts more time and effort into his playing than any of us, and it shows in his amazing growth. In our group he shares duties with Mike in both playing bass and running sound, and does an excellent job at both. His work ethic and his willingness to make a fool of himself in front of a crowd makes him a perfect fit for us.
